No stamping

Good morning my crafty friends! How are you doing? I'm having a very busy time at work right now. It'll be like that for another week or so, but after that I expect things will calm down a bit.

Can you believe that September is almost over? This month just flew by for me. So much has been going on ...

A new challenge started at Crafty ribbons blog today and this time we want to see lace somewhere on your project. I love using lace. I think it gives the project that perfect elegant, elegant and feminine touch. At CR store they have lots of gorgeous lace that you can choose from, so go take a look.

As for me, I decided to use Chantilly cotton lace - callac.

I was going for a shabby chic and romantic look with this card. I used several leftover scraps of paper from my stash and distressed all of them with my scissors and distress ink. I made this flower a long time ago with TH tattered florals die.

Besides lace I also used some pearls and doily. To make decorative borders I used my craft punches.

I hope you'll come play with us. I can't wait to see what you can make with lace. :)

Have a great day!
Hugs! xx

Pink and black

Hello my sweet friends! How are you doing? I hope you've been enjoying the week so far. I've been busy with work stuff, but I am enjoying it. My throat is getting better, which I'm very happy about. Looks like honey and lemon did their magic. In case anybody wants a recipe for a home-made "medicine" that helps getting your immune system better, here it is ...

What you need:
1 liter honey
6 lemons
1 ginger root (be careful with ginger, because it has a very strong taste; remember you can always add more, but you can't take any out)

What to do with those stuff:
Squeeze lemons and either squeeze or grate ginger root (if you grate it, make sure it's very, very finely grated) - I prefer to squeeze ginger root though, so I get juice out of it. Mix everything together and voila, you're done. :) Easy peasy, right? Again, be careful with ginger, because it has strong spicy taste. I love it (I love spicy things) and I usually use one big root (sometimes even more), but you might want to start with a small root or only half of the root and then add more if you want. You can either drink this on its own (a table spoon of this syrup in the morning and another one in the evening seems to work just fine), or you can make a tea out of it. Just put some syrup into the tea cup and pour hot (not boiled!!!) water over it. Yum! I can't have ginger right now (boohoo :( ), so I was making this mixture without ginger. It was ok, but I missed that spicy "touch". ;) Anyways, this thing is awesome - trust me, better than those pills etc. - and it helps. And it tastes sooo good too! ;) Maybe this is also an idea for the Christmas gifts this year - to give to your loved ones. :)

Ok, enough about that now. Let's talk some crafty things ... Today I'd like to show you a card I made with some leftover scraps of Prima's paper. Most of them are scraps from the Romance novel paper pad, which I absolutely love (I don't want to throw away even the tiniest little piece).

I love pink and black colour combination and even though I'm "scared" of using black on my projects I thought I'd give it a go. I created the background using several stripes of paper, which I inked with distress ink. As you can see I used lots of different lace and some flowers on this card.

I didn't do any stamping for a change. Instead I chose those beautiful butterfly die cuts to be in the center of my card.

In the center of each butterfly I put a crystal - you can never have too much bling, can you? ;)

So much from me today. Have a wonderful day! :) xx

Atered trinket box

Hello everybody! I'm sorry I haven't been visiting your blogs lately. I just started a new job on Thursday and it's keeping me busy. I know it's only been a couple of days, but I'm enjoying it so far. I have quite a lot of work and I'm still adjusting and figuring out stuff, but otherwise so far everything seems great!

On the other hand I've been starting to feel that I'm coming down with sore throat. Yikes! Not something I want! So I've been googling to get some ideas how to prevent this from getting even worse and how to heal it (preferably over the weekend). Right now lemon, honey and tea are my veeeery good friends. ;)

Yesterday when I went shopping I saw firt Christmas decorations in the store. I was like "Seriously?! It's only September!" I love Christmas - it's my favourite time of the year - and each year I'm waiting impatiently for it to arrive, but Christmas decorations in September ... That's too early even for me. What do you think about that? When do they put Christmas decorations on shelves where you live?

Speaking about Christmas ... Christmas cards are definitely something I *should* start working on already. And some Christmas presents too. If I don't start soon, I'll be in big trouble (again!) when the season comes. If you'd like to start working on your Christmas projects soon too, you might want to check out the Crafty ribbons store. Why? Because they just added some gorgeous festive ribbons and buttons to their store. You can see all of them here. I'm hoping to find some time to play with those over the weekend.

For today, I have something a bit different to show you. A box.

I had this La La Land Crafts trinket box in my drawer for a while, patiently waiting for me to find some time to decorate it. And I finally came around to do it. :) I took some scraps of paper from my stash, some embellishments and went to work.

This is what the top looks like.

I used several different dies from different companies, some gems and sequins, Viva decor stamp and button for the center of the star. And voila, this is the result. :)

This is what the box looks like opened up.

Ok, so this is what's been happening on this side of the world. I hope to do some blog hopping later today to see what have you been up to.

Enjoy the weekend! xx

A poppy for you - just because

Good morning my crafty friends! I hope you had a lovely and relaxing weekend and that you are ready for this week's challenges. I did some crafting over the weekend and yesterday we had some friends over in the afternoon so besides a little bit of crafting in the morning I also did some baking.

One of the things I made is this card with the adorable Fergus with poppy image from WRS.

Papers are from different brands - I'm clearing out my stash. ;) All of the embellishments came from my stash as well.

I coloured the image with distress inks. I like the soft look they give.

I raised the image on foam pads for some extra dimension.

Have a wonderful week! Hugs! xx
